We are proud that Johanson Design is taking part in the Handslaget project, a collaboration with the Municipality of Markaryd.
The project gives our employees the opportunity to improve their Swedish language skills and feel even more included in the workplace.
For 15 weeks, starting in week 40, an SFI (Swedish for Immigrants) teacher will come to our workplace to provide Swedish lessons – directly at work and during working hours, a few hours per week.
A total of 12 employees are participating in this initiative, which we see as an important investment in both individual development and the sense of community at our workplace.
Language is a key – both in everyday life and at work. Through the Handslaget project, the company aims to create the right conditions for employees to feel confident, included, and able to develop in their professional roles – while strengthening the workplace as a whole.
Employee Development:
By improving their Swedish, it becomes easier for employees to communicate, participate fully in working life, and feel confident in their daily routines. This gives them the opportunity to grow and feel more included.
Improved Work Environment:
When language skills improve, communication becomes smoother, participation increases, and the work climate becomes safer. This makes the workday simpler and more meaningful for everyone, while allowing the company to operate more efficiently and harmoniously.
We see this project as an important investment – not only in skills development, but also in community and inclusion.
“It feels fantastic to be able to offer language training during working hours. Through Handslaget, our employees have the opportunity to strengthen both their language skills and their sense of confidence at work – something that benefits our entire community. When we grow together, we grow as a company.”
We look forward to seeing the positive results that Handslaget will bring during the autumn – and in the long term.
