Design With Integrity
Great design isn’t just about how something looks or works—it’s about how it’s made, who it’s made by, and the impact it has on people and the planet. At Johanson Design, we see social responsibility not as a statement, but as a shared commitment—shaping our choices, guiding our partnerships, and defining what quality truly means.
Every person contributing to our products deserves to be treated with fairness, safety, and respect.
Our ambition: zero human rights violations in our supply chain.
We work actively to prevent exploitation, unsafe conditions, and discrimination—wherever our materials or components come from. Transparency, traceability, and accountability are key to making this a reality.
We take full responsibility for shaping a supply chain that reflects our values.
All suppliers are required to sign and comply with our Code of Conduct, which sets clear expectations on fair labor, safe workplaces, environmental practices, and anti-corruption.
Our goal: 95% supplier compliance—and rising.
To uphold this, we conduct regular evaluations focused on working conditions, traceability, and environmental impact. Suppliers who fail to meet our standards are asked to take corrective action—or we part ways.
Where our materials come from matters. A significant share of our production partners are located within 100 km of our facilities.
This short distance has a big impact: reduced transport emissions, faster collaboration, and stronger ties to our regional economy.
It also enables better oversight, more responsive partnerships, and support for circular design.
